At Bharathi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, we believe that discipline is the backbone of education. Academic success, character development, and life values are possible only when students and parents work together with responsibility and mutual respect.
Our rules are designed not as restrictions, but as guiding principles that ensure every student of Bharathi grows into a responsible, respectful, and successful citizen.

General Code of Conduct for Students
- 1. Students must maintain discipline, respect, and good behavior both inside and outside the school campus.
- 2. Politeness and courtesy of speech are expected at all times when dealing with teachers, staff, fellow students, and visitors.
- 3. Students should take pride in saying: “I am a Bharathian – I represent my school with dignity and honor.”
- 4. Any act of disobedience, disrespect, or indiscipline will invite strict disciplinary action.
- 5. Students should refrain from using offensive language, misconduct, bullying, or any form of violence.
- 6. Respect for school property, furniture, books, and resources is mandatory. Damage will be considered a punishable offense.
Attendance & Punctuality Rules
- 1. Regular attendance is compulsory; minimum 85% attendance is required to appear for final examinations.
- 2. Students must arrive at school before the morning assembly. Latecomers must produce a valid reason signed by parents.
- 3. No student shall leave the school premises during school hours without the permission of the Principal/Headmaster.
- 4. Absence for more than three consecutive days requires a written explanation from parents.
- 5. Prior permission must be sought for long leave; absence during tests or exams will not be condoned.
Uniform & Grooming Rules
- 1. Students must wear the prescribed school uniform neatly and correctly every day.
- 2. Uniforms should be clean, well-ironed, and complete with tie, belt, and shoes.
- 3. (a). Hair must be neat: - Boys: Short, properly combed, no fancy hairstyles.
- 3. (b). Hair must be neat: - Girls: Hair tied neatly with ribbons as prescribed.
- 4. Wearing of jewelry, fancy watches, make-up, or nail polish is strictly prohibited.
- 5. ID cards issued by the school must be worn daily.
Examination Rules
- 1. Students must attend all tests, mid-term exams, and annual examinations without fail.
- 2. Malpractice, copying, or unfair means during exams will result in cancellation of that exam and strict disciplinary action.
- 3. No re-exam will be conducted for absentees unless under medical emergencies with valid proof.
- 4. Marks and progress reports will be shared with parents and require parent signature for acknowledgment.
- 5. Academic promotions are strictly based on overall performance, attendance, and discipline.
Library Rules
- 1. Silence must be maintained inside the library at all times.
- 2. Each student is issued a library card and is responsible for the safe handling of borrowed books.
- 3. Books must be returned within the due date; late returns will attract a fine.
- 4. Damaged or lost books must be replaced or paid for by the student.
- 5. Students should handle books as sources of knowledge and respect.
Laboratory Rules
- 1. Students must enter laboratories only under the supervision of a teacher.
- 2. Proper lab coat/uniform and safety instructions must be followed strictly.
- 3. Equipment, chemicals, and instruments must be handled with care.
- 4. Damaging lab property or unsafe practices will lead to disciplinary action.
- 5. Cleanliness and hygiene in laboratories are mandatory for all.
Playground & Sports Rules
- 1. Students must participate in Physical Education classes and outdoor activities regularly.
- 2. Sports equipment must be used responsibly and returned after use.
- 3. Rough play, physical fights, or misconduct during sports will not be tolerated.
- Strict adherence to safety norms and hygiene.
Digital & Technology Usage Rules
- 1. Mobile phones, cameras, or gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the campus unless approved for academic purposes.
- 2. Students must use school computers only for educational purposes.
- 3. Misuse of the internet, social media, or digital devices in the school name will invite strict disciplinary action.
Rules for Parents & Guardians
- 1. Parents are expected to cooperate with the school in enforcing discipline, punctuality, and attendance.
- 2. Parents must regularly check the student’s diary, homework, and progress reports.
- 3. Leave letters should be submitted promptly for student absences.
- 4. Parents must attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and actively participate in their child’s academic growth.
- 5. Parents should not directly meet teachers during class hours; appointments must be taken through the office.
- 6. Any complaints or suggestions should be submitted politely to the school management.
- 7. Parents are equally responsible for ensuring that students respect uniforms, complete homework, and prepare for exams.
- 8. Timely payment of fees is mandatory for uninterrupted student enrollment.
